Join local potter Kelly Rhodes in this six-week intermediate pottery course.

This 6-week course meets once per week, 6-8 p.m. on Fridays.

In Intermediate Pottery, potter Kelly Rhodes helps students refine their skills learned in Introductory Pottery, teaching them how to turn their vision into reality. Kelly guides students through more advanced projects and focuses on developing their practice through trial and error.

This course is ideal for students who are ready to move beyond the basics but still desire some guidance from an established instructor.

In the second session on November 2, KC will cover the process of decorating and glazing the bisque-fired pieces.

Frame Loom Weaving Workshop

Spend an afternoon learning the basics of frame loom weaving… and make new friends too!

In this workshop, accomplished textile artist Sue Tye will teach you the basics of frame loom weaving and help you complete a project of your own to take home. Emerge will provide the looms for each student to use plus the foundation materials needed to complete a small weaving. Students are encouraged to bring any special items they would like to add into their weaving such as beads, feathers buttons or fabric scraps. Have an interesting stick or branch? Bring it to attach your weaving to (optional)!


Workshop Details:

Participants age 15 and up are welcome to register (12-14 if accompanied by a parent/guardian).

Workshop cost includes four hours of instruction and guidance as well as materials.

Please plan to arrive on time as the workshop will start promptly and move quickly into the activities.

The annual Gathering of the Bands! This year’s clinician is Dr. Michael Keepe. Dr. Michael Keepe lives in picturesque Coeur d’Alene, Idaho working as an educator, performer, and music publisher. Dr. Keepe received a Doctorate in Saxophone Performance with a Minor in Music Business at the University of Arizona.

For more than 30 years, Mike has taught saxophonists at all levels of expertise from beginners to advanced university students. This passion has led to the creation of the North Idaho Saxophone Academy providing private lessons and workshops throughout North Idaho. Mike also teaches through Bella Note’ Music Studios in Sandpoint, ID providing additional lessons and clinics for the upper Idaho panhandle, and is on faculty for The Festival at Sandpoint Summer Youth Music Camp.
